One useful clue beats a long guess
Try a distinctive title word, an original name or a credited actor. Open the result and compare the year and cast before deciding it is the production you remember.
Similar names need a second detail
Doctor Who has separate series entries. Dark and Dark Matter are not the same programme. The format and year beside a title help keep those choices apart.
Dates should narrow, not trap
Use a year for a broad period or the release-date range for a narrower one. The date is the recorded release, which may differ from when you first saw the film. Start with a wider range when memory is uncertain.
Reset when the list disappears
Remove old filters before trying another title. A series will not appear under Movies-only, and a running-time limit excludes films outside that band. Search can also recognise a programme followed by a recorded season number.
